Sunday 6th - walk ***** - Felixstowe Ferry Circuit– sunny.
As it was such a nice day here in Felixstowe we were keen to get out but
not sure what to do? It is too wet for the bikes at the moment so to avoid
the crowds we head again to Felixstowe Ferry with a flask of homemade soup
to see if we could see some more Bearded Tits. We park by the small chapel
and walk to the River Deben where the tide is racing in! The sky is again
lovely and I stop to take loads of pics as usual as we walk around the boat
yard. Then out onto the Deben path which becomes muddy just after the sheep
gate. We go as far as Kings Fleet and sit on a pile of large oak posts
being used for an environmental water pumping project, enjoying the peace
and quiet. There were loads of big flocks of birds over by the Deben but
sadly nothing in the reedy dykes:( We walked back to Tomlin bank along the
bottom but only saw a Pipet! Crossing the golf course on the very muddy
Tomlin path where we stopped to collect some lovely bright red Hips for
Mags Christmas decorations. Then across the cliff top park and down to the
beach path and back to the Ferry as the sun sets behind us. We another
great walk around Felixstowe in lovely weather covering nearly 4 miles
being out for two hours 15 minutes:)
